"Rain Child dancing" For Lydia (written in 2005)

Rain Child dancing-
Free as can be
Catching the shifting winds
Colliding with the waves
Come, freedom, come
Catch her as she falls
Down into the depths
Of all that she regrets
Come, oh freedom come,
Wipe away the tears
Replace the rust for gold
And hold her to your side.

Erase away the ugliness
Clogging beautiful eyes
Cleanse the broken soul
Mend the dirty hems.
Come, oh healer, come
And kiss the wounds away
Never say goodbye, and
hold her as she cries
Come, oh healer, come
Find the filthy parts
And wash them clean as snow.

Make her new again, like a child.
Free to love, free to be in the arms of the King.

Renew, rebuild, rebirth-
The brutality of gnashed teeth-
Blow away like wishes in the breeze.
Far from all she knows
Allow her to fall,
If it’s into your arms
Come, oh Lover, come
And nurse a bleeding heart,
Come, oh Lover, come
And love her every part.
